EXCLUSIVE: Independent Artist Group has signed comedian Raanan Hershberg for representation.
A Louisville, KY native now based in New York who’s known for his strong joke writing and high-energy delivery, Hershberg is coming off the release of his latest hour, Morbidly Jewish: A New Special. Released on YouTube on January 15th, the special finds Raanan at his most biting, acerbic, angry, Jewish, and, as always…loud. It’s an hour of comedy about hypocrisy, overthinking, certainty, and the anxiety of living in a world where everyone is confident and no one is correct. The stand-up recorded it at Sesh Comedy Club in Lower Manhattan last May, with Dave Hogsett directing.
Seen performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden, After Midnight on CBS, Amazon and Comedy Central, Hershberg’s last special prior to Morbidly Jewish was February 2025’s Brave, which similarly satirizes the political divide in America, while also exploring recent developments in his chaotic personal life. Other specials from the comic include Jokes from the Underground, one of multiple he filmed at the Comedy Cellar in New York, and It Could Have Been Better, which is now streaming on Amazon.
Watch on Deadline
As a filmmaker, Hershberg’s most recent film, Memory Room, won Best Film at the New York Shorts Film Festival. Directed with Dan McCabe, the short is a psychological thriller about a caretaker who suspects one of her dementia patients may be hiding a deadly secret. Hershberg also directed the short You Will Never Become President, starring Joe List, and can also be seen hosting the podcast Your Favorite Movie Sucks, a weekly podcast where he dissects the virtues and flaws of his guests’ favorite films.
Hershberg continues to be managed by Silvera Arougheti Entertainment Group. Check out his current list of upcoming tour dates below.
