Taylor Frankie Paul‘s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives co-stars are speaking out amid the fallout from a domestic abuse investigation that put the Hulu series on pause.

Filming for Season 5 of the docuseries was halted following an incident between Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. After news of the investigation gained momentum, a video from a 2023 incident where Paul is seen physically attacking Mortensen surfaced, leading ABC to pull the premiere of The Bachelorette.

Amid rumors around #MomTok not being able to survive this latest scandal and how the Hulu show could proceed, Paul’s co-stars are breaking their silence and denouncing domestic violence.

The video in question is from 2023, where Paul is seen physically attacking Mortensen while he films the moment. At one point, Paul throws a metal chair at Mortensen while her daughter is in close proximity and is heard crying.

In 2023, Paul pled guilty to aggravated assault in the incident depicted in the video leaked today. Draper City Police Department confirmed that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” involving the pair, with allegations “made in both directions.” Paul also alleged wrongdoing on Mortensen’s part in the 2023 case.

The video is what ultimately led Disney to cancel the premiere of The Bachelorette. After news that the show wouldn’t air as planned, Paul shared a statement through her representative.

“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security,” a spokesperson for Paul said in a statement to People. “After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”

The statement continued, “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
