EXCLUSIVE: Production is underway in the U.S. on indie feature , a character-driven drama starring Landon Ashworth (Go On), Colin O’Brien (The Monkey), and Jess Weixler (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story).
The film centers on Clay, an autistic father who takes his son on a spring break road trip without revealing the journey’s true purpose: reconnecting with the wife and mother who left them fifteen years earlier.
Written and directed by Josh Long, the project follows his work co-writing the psychological thriller Some Other Woman, directed by Joel David Moore and starring Tom Felton and Ashley Greene, which debuted theatrically through Radiant Films International.
Cinematography is by Antonio Cisneros, whose recent work includes the Sundance-premiering Cookie Queens, executive-produced by Prince Harry and Meghan, as well as Disney+’s Mickey: The Story of a Mouse.

The film is co-produced by Long, Peter Borrud of Reverant Films, and Alyssa Radmand Devine of PigRat Productions, and is partnering with Joey Travolta’s Inclusion Films, a program dedicated to providing training and career opportunities in filmmaking for individuals with developmental disabilities.
“The struggle of trying to be the right kind of dad is something I think about every day,” said Long. “I wanted to explore a story about a neurodivergent parent raising a neurotypical child, the unique challenges that come with that dynamic, and the kinds of characters shaped by those experiences.”
Weixler is known for comedy-fantasy film Teeth, The Good Wife and Ryan Murphy’s Monster. Astrophysicist turned actor Ashworth has appeared in MacGruber, NCIS, and The Resident. O’Brien is known for Wonka, Apple TV+’s Dear Edward, and will next be seen in Hulu’s upcoming Dan Fogelman series The Land.
Weixler is represented by Gersh and Mosaic; O’Brien by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Innovative Artists; and Ashworth by J Pervis.
