Netflix Orders ‘Dang!’ Adult Animated Series Starring Stephanie Hsu, Poppy Liu & Andrew Law From ‘The Good Place’ Trio

Netflix has given a series order to Dang!, an adult animated comedy executive produced by The Good Place alums Andrew Law, Matt Murray and Mike Schur. Law also stars alongside Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Rocky Horror Show) and Poppy Liu (His & Hers, Hacks) in the series, which comes from Universal Television with Titmouse serving as animation studio. It is slated to debut later this year.

Written by Law and Murray, who serve as showrunners, Dang! follows a brother (Law) and sister (Liu) duo whose fun, messy lives in New York City are interrupted when their worst nightmare comes true: their high-achieving older sister (Hsu) shows up and wants to hang out with them.

Schur was heavily involved in the creative process on the series with previous collaborators Law and Murray. The three executive produce with Alan Yang (Master of None), David Miner for 3Arts Entertainment, Chris Prynoski (The Legend of Vox Machina), Shannon Prynoski (Scavengers Reign), Ben Kalina (Big Mouth), and Antonio Canobbio (Digman) of Titmouse. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where Schur is under an overall deal, is the studio.

Schur and Murray also worked together on Saturday Night Live; Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, co-created by Schur; Sunnyside, co-created by Murray; Rutherford Falls; and Schur’s latest series for Netflix, A Man On the Inside. Law most recently worked on Hacks, which Schur executive produces. Schur previously executive produced the Netflix animated comedy Q-Force, also with Universal TV and Timouse.

“We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Netflix, Universal Television, and Titmouse on Dang!,” Law said. “We hope that you fall in love with these characters. Or at least find them very, very attractive. Sexually.”

Dang! joins Netflix’s slate of upcoming adult animated comedies including Strip Law, Mating Season, Alley Cats as well as second seasons of Haunted Hotel and Long Story Short.
