Demi Moore (Landman) is set for a key role alongside Charlize Theron and Julia Garner in Tyrant, Amazon MGM Studios‘ new culinary thriller from writer-director David Weil, Deadline can confirm.
Shooting in Los Angeles with a California tax credit in a few weeks’ time, Tyrant‘s official logline is being kept under wraps. But the film is said to be a high-stakes thriller set within New York City’s elite fine dining scene.
Weil adapted the script from a story he conceived with Cody Behan. The Picture Company partners Alex Heineman & Andrew Rona are producing along with Theron and her Secret Menu partners Beth Kono & A.J. Dix. Weil will also produce alongside producing partner Natalie Laine Williams, with Stan Wlodkowski serving as EP.
Coming off a recent Oscar nomination for The Substance, Moore can currently be seen starring in the hit Paramount+ series Landman from Taylor Sheridan, heading into its third season — with an expanded role in Season 2.

Next up, she’ll be seen starring alongside Keke Palmer and Naomi Ackie in Boots Riley’s Neon crime comedy I Love Boosters, which is coming off its premiere at SXSW. Variety was first to the news of Moore’s Tyrant casting.
