Laura Zapata is the latest houseguest to be evicted from Telemundo‘s La Casa de los Famosos, and her elimination sent shockwaves through the house.
The telenovela star was a fan favorite from the beginning and one of the most recognizable personalities in Season 6 of the reality competition. However, after eight weeks in the house, Zapata was voted out by the public.
“We need to ask the producer what happened,” Zapata tells Deadline after her shock eviction. “I thought that I was going to make it to the final. Not just make the final, but the possibility of winning La Casa de los Famosos.”
Hours following her elimination, Zapata is still reeling from her ousting and expressed she had her “doubts” about why she was voted out. Zapata mentioned she has been reading comments on social media and has seen that the “public is very angry because the public wanted to continue seeing me.”

“I am deeply appreciative of Telemundo for the opportunity that I had so the people could get to know Laura Zapata, not the [telenovelas] villain, not the one that they say has a dark heart,” she added.
One of Zapata’s closest allies in the house was Josh Martínez, CBS’s Big Brother Season 19 winner, who has been deeply affected by her exit. Zapata appreciates him and the family she created in the reality competition.
Despite not making it to the finale, Zapata says that her stay in the house was “beautiful,” adding, “I stay with the nice things that I lived in La Casa de los Famosos and the ugly things I’ll remember because the ones that don’t remember the bad things can make the same mistake again.”
