Investigation Discovery
EXCLUSIVE: Investigation Discovery is launching its latest major new true-crime tale: The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle.
The cable network has been plotting the two-part series, which comes from Hot Snakes Media, the company behind The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, for a while and will launch the documentary event over two nights in May. The series will launch on May 25 and 26 between 9pm-11pm ET.
The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle follows a man who claims to suffer from a rare form of amnesia. As producers embark on a mission to help him discover his identity, they’re spun into a web of lies and deceit, unearthing three unsolved cold cases and finding themselves in the crosshairs with threats toward one of their own.
In August 2004, a naked and injured man was found behind a Burger King in rural Georgia.

Shannon and Eric Evangelista, who founded Hot Snakes Media, which is also behind TLC’s Breaking Amish, set out to help him piece together his forgotten life.

But as cracks in his story emerged, producers uncovered realities that revealed disturbing inconsistencies in his past, revealing three cold cases and a possible connection to a powerful Midwestern crime family. As new evidence surfaces, the producers face mounting threats, placing one of their own in danger and revealing the devastating cost that can come with chasing the truth, per the logline.
Case in point, when the man was standing with Shannon Evangelista at the top of a hill in Colorado and says to her, “If anyone wants to get rid of a body this would be a good place to shove one off, it’d be years before they found it.”
